A small, forgotten island in the Indian Ocean, off the coast of Mozambique.
In the mornings, when the adults sail out into the lagoon to fish at sea in their traditional dhows, Macuti Town is taken over by the children. They run wild all over the place, they take over the old streets, the crumbling ruins and the entire island.
This photobook is all about these children. About friendship, longing, love, the search for happiness, and it´s all about growing up - in one of the poorest countries in the world.
